2008 Grammys!

Why the big craze over British singer, Amy Winehouse? I mean, this troubled, drug loving, Bee-Hived, tattooed, young lady- is popular why? I'll tell you why. If a celebrities personal life have to be perfect in order to be a fan- guess what? It's safe to say-they'd be NO fans out there.

Amy's soulful, melodic voice is unique and she really can sing. Sure, her lyrics may be a little goofy, but then again, she's singing about her life's experiences. Imagine this-an artist who's not dependent on a computer to enhance the voice, (wow, what a concept)! Call me crazy, but I was very pleased to see that she walked away with 5 Grammys-because she's really talented and earned the coveted awards-can't wait until her next album.

It's funny, award shows in my opinion are usually boring and extremely long. But this year, the theme was quite interesting (combining the old & the new). I actually enjoyed watching it this year. I especially enjoyed watching Amy Winehouse, Beyonce & Tina Turner, Alicia Keys and Herbie Hancocks' performances. I was pleased that jazz pianist, Herbie Hancock (a Chicago native), finally got recognition-he's awesome!

See you next year....
