Eliot "Ness" Spitzer Resigns

Lt. Governor Paterson, effective Monday, March 16th, will take over all duties as the new governor of New York. Paterson is known to be a capable replacement and will begin to do what the public elected him to do, which is run the business of the state. Meanwhile, a grim-faced Gov. Eliot "Ness" Spitzer, (Client #9), with wife by his side (more on why, later); obviously has a lot to contend with, with the Feds, and the alleged use of a high-priced prostitution ring. Will he be charged and go to jail? Will he keep his law license? Will the public forgive him? Only time will tell, but this is certainly a tragic story no matter how you look at it.

Okay, many are wondering why Mrs. Spitzer, for a second time, stood by her man. I too am wondering the same thing. However, I realize that it's a personal decision and really none of my "damn" business. But if I can just be allowed to make one point: For all the advisers out there recommending that the wife stand by her man in these situations, use another "play" out of the playbook. It's getting more and more difficult to watch these press conferences and look at the wives as the husbands give the remorseful apology. Honestly, it's really frightening!

Finally, I really don't want to glee in the down fall of yet another public official letting us down. I mean these high powered, public officials are human too. I think the big lesson to be learned here, "if you live in a glass house, don't throw stones"!
