When I was in college, I had the honor of pledging a very distinguished sorority by the name of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. (Gamma Rho Chapter-ISU). Founded in 1922 by seven illustrous school teachers, and the first black greek organization founded on a non -black campus, Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. The sorority is well-known for "Greater Service, Greater Progress", but I also like to recognize it for selecting "quality over quanity too."
On April 7th, 2008-my pledge line (S.S. F.B.I.) will celebrate our 24th year anniversary. Happy anniversary-Leslie (Capt. Crunch), Eunece (Deuce/Deuce), LaVonne (Tre Cool Girl) and Shanne (Anchor Shank) aka, "Four Beautiful Individuals"! This marked the beginning of a friendship, sisterhood and ultimately our adulthood. Oh the parties, the sweet heart courts, the road trips, the step shows *to include all the CRACKS too (LOL); (which oh by the way, we always "jammed in") and the countless service projects; all helped to shape a FANTASTIC group of strong, beautiful, black women-known across the country as the "SEE GEE Rho's"-Known at ISU as the "Most Distinguished!"
So, to all my sista's, (I love you), especially the women of GAMMA RHO CHPTR who "made me", my road sorors (SIU, NIU, Uof I), to my "SANDS" (Happy Anniversary, and many, many more to come-LUV U ALL) and finally, to the many women who embark upon the priviledge of joining the sisterhood, always remember ("Many are called, but few are chosen)!" HHHTTDID....
*EEEEEEEEEE-YIP Sorors!!! (ΣΓΡ)
